Pitocin after non-medicated birth

Mariah

So with my last baby right when I was admitted into the hospital they put an IV in even though I went all natural. They said at the time it was “just in case” something went wrong the needle was already in my arm and ready to go. Well after I delivered my son and the placenta they administered a bag of pitocin. I kind of felt like I had no choice they just hooked it up and then I had to sit around for like 4 hours until the bag was finished. I did research afterwards of course and apparently pitocin is given after labor to help contract the uterus and stop the bleeding. I just don’t see the point in this if Ive given birth without any medication intervention at all. And it was kind of really annoying have a needle in my arm that I didn’t really need. Advice on your experiences please!
