child support

Christine

I have a 4 yo. daughter and unfortunately she was conceived with a man who has chosen not to be a part of our lives... he originally is from another country and last year I filed for child support. the country he is from doesn't support the US child support enforcement so I was unsuccessful. well I recently found out he was back in the states and working on a visa. So, I filed again today. My husband finds this inappropriate and is taking it as a threat to his ability to provide for us. Which OF COURSE was NEVER my intention! however, my daughter really wants to go to ballet school and we are having a rough time making rent let alone the rest of our bills... he works full time 12 hour days and I stay home with our 3 little ones. if we could afford child care I would totally get a job! So i see it as a way of helping me care for my daughter by making sure we have a home and car and of course being able to finally send her to ballet school. Am I being unreasonable asking the blood father to pay child support? should I not have filed since it goes against how my husband feels as our provider? Or am I doing the right thing making sure I can give my little girl the most important thing in the world to her right now and use the leftover money to cover bills we just can't seem to pay?sorry for the long post but I appreciate whatever advice I can get!
