No weight gain?

Question

I’m 37 weeks 1 day and had my appointment today. I haven’t gained any weight the past 3 visits. I had a new Dr today and she didn’t seem to concerned but I just wonder how the baby can be gaining what he needs? Has this happened to anyone else?

I have not gained an ounce all pregnancy I hav actually lost 24 lbs and my doctor is not concerned because I have gallstones. He said the baby will take what she needs from me.

I’ve read that in the few weeks leading up to delivery you don’t gain much weight, and some women might even lose a couple pounds. 
Something to do with the fluid/water weight.

My weight has definitely been stagnant at periods during my pregnancy (including from about weeks 33-37).  I’ve been told not to worry as the baby will be a bit like a parasite and take what they need from you.  Mine has certainly been taking all my iron reserves and his weight growth was good over the period where my weight was remaining the same
