How to temp? Help!!!

So I’ve never taken my temp before so I was just wondering what this means! And I know I should have taken it earlier in this cycle but I didn’t. So yesterday 3dpo my temp was 98.6 and then today 4dpo (temping same time of day) my temp was 99.2! Is it normal to have it keep rising 4 days AFTER ovulation if you’re not pregnant? Not counting this as a diagnosis of pregnancy, just curious. Does it look like a good sign?

Also make sure you’re checking your temp before getting out of bed. That has an even bigger impact than exact time... because once you get up your body temp starts adjusting to being awake.

It is normal for it to stay high but also to fluctuate in that high range. I can show you my chart from last cycle here if it helps. There were some jumps in the luteal phase (after ovulation) but the temps stayed higher, in general, than before-ovulation temps.
