My UK mums

A friend of mine is on the brink of being evicted from her home due to arrears over 2 grand which was not her fault as she made weekly payments towards the arrears and has never defaulted. She’s in arrears as her housing benefit have messed about with her benefits and not letting her know when they have underpaid or not paid the housing association until when it’s racked up.

She’s 28 weeks pregnant and has a 4 year old. She has bipolar, depression and anxiety and recently her behaviour has been extremely erratic. She’s worried she will have nowhere to live and no where to put her stuff when she gets evicted as she is not able to pay a grand within a week to which the housing association want. So she’s started packing her bags already and has given me her son to look after because she doesn’t want him to be homeless. She’s not thinking straight at the minute and I don’t know what to do. I’ve said for her to go to the council to discuss and see what legal advice she can get, but she’s just given up. I just hate seeing her like this 😔 I don’t really know what I expect from this post weather advice or just to vent. I would help her but I haven’t got a grand to help her with. She’s a good woman and has never been in debt before. I’ve never seen her this stressed before 😭
