Traveling tips?

Next month we are going on a flight and I'm wondering if any of you July moms have traveled  recently and have Any tips for the flight? My son is 22mths. 
Did anyone take car seat on plane?

Pack entertainment & snacks!!!!

If you bought him his own seat, take the car seat on board. Otherwise gate check it. Pack plenty of snacks and some fun activities. My son sleeps through most flights but he enjoys the color wonder coloring books/markers and watching a movie on the tablet. We also pack a special treat, usually m&m;’s, and only pull them out if necessary. Nice to have a back up distraction.

ask the people at the gate if the flight is full or during check in. i always ask at both:. sometimes the people at the gate will tell everyone over the loud speaker that the flight is full, when in reality it isn’t so people sit in the middle seats. that’s what happened on our last southwest flight. they still had 4 empty seats total but told everyone else it was full.. if it isn’t full, they will let you take the car seat on the plane for free (must go next to window). we did that on our last flight with southwest and it was a godsend because our son HATES sitting on our laps. he passed out in his car seat while taxiing and woke up with 15 mins left of our 2.5 hour flight. good luck!!!

My 22m daughter has flown about 15 times now. The longest flight was 17hours and that was brutal.
1) carry enough snacks and food
2) carry enough things to distract (even random things like the drink cups work well)
3) carry medication just in case they get sick
4) ask at check in, ask when boarding and ask when you get onto the plane to be moved to an empty seat. It’s tough flying with a baby on your lap.
