Offer to induce at 39 weeks?

Anyone else’s OB offer to induce at 39 weeks? I’m thinking of taking her up on it!

Mine won’t talk about it until 40 weeks. I personally don’t want to talk about it until 41 weeks unless medically necessary

I would avoid it until you are already pretty dilated. I was induced at 38+1 with my first due to medical reasons and the induction took 5 days! Thankfully it didn’t end up in a csection but i don’t want to do that again.

Personally I would say no (not judging anyone that would say yes), unless there was a pressing medical reason for it. Trust me, I'm tired of waiting and would like to finally see my baby (39+2 today), but I read many articles about inducing before the baby is ready and want to give my little man the chance to decide for himself. I trust him, he knows what he's doing!

Actually just last night bay news nine said showing from factual research being induced at 39 weeks has more health benefits then waiting for when baby is “ready”.

Thanks for all the feedback. I’m definitely torn, I was induced with my first and it was a long process. That being said, I’m already dilated farther than I was with my first and I’m really trying to avoid my kids having to share their birthdays. My son is the 22nd and her due date is the 25th 😳 I figure at this point we will just see what is available and go from there.

I was offered today, i will be getting induced Saturday. I’ve been 3 cm dilated for 2 weeks.

My ob offered it to me. I'm a cm dilated an cervix is soft an baby's in position. I go into tomorrow morning to have my little man at 39wk 4days. All my kiddos have been induced everything always went smoothly.

I asked if I could be...then two weeks later I was told because of my GD diagnosis, they don’t want me going over 40...so 39 weeks it is!
