Anyone else's cervix still closed?

I had my 38 week check up today, and my cervix is closed and I'm not effaced :( I feel like I keep reading comments on here about how dilated and effaced everyone is, so just looking for reassurance that I'm not the only one!

Hang in there. It’s normal. Remember-every woman is different. Just because you aren’t dilated  today doesn’t mean you won’t start to dilate in the next few days. If this is your first child then it’s to be even more expected you won’t be dilated at 38 weeks. A friend of mine had to have a membrane sweep at almost 41 weeks and this was her second child while I am 38 weeks and 3 days and dilated 4 cm. Being dilated 4cm even at 38 weeks doesn’t mean that I will have a baby any day- I can “ sit “ at 4cm for two more weeks. Just hang in there.

I had an appointment on Tuesday when I was 39+4 and my cervix was hard and closed. Came back yesterday (Thursday) at 39+6 and cervix was soft and almost all the way open, however I'm still only dilated to a 1 😭 Don't worry! I saw on another post on here a girl was 40 and still closed, everyone is different! I can tell you between my appointments on Tuesday and Thursday I walked, bounced on an exercise ball, rocked in a rocking chair, used my breast pump, and had sex and I think one (or all) of these things helped!! Good luck mama!! 🤞💗

Same here 38+4. Still closed, no mucus plug, no contractions 😪. I was told they will induce me at 41 weeks if baby doesn’t come before that. 
I got induced with my first one at 40+4 and it was very painful. I hope I don’t have to be induced again 🤫

Exactly 38 weeks, and nothing yet. It does hurt a lot when my OB sticks the fingers to check. My OB did order a pelvic xray as she wants to know if my hip bones are not too tight and preventing a normal labor.

I'm 40 weeks today and not a cm dilated and very thick. if she doesn't come by Wednesday, I'll be forcing her out

38+5 and got checked today. Barely 1cm and cervix is still posterior. Was crying after my appointment because I just want my boy here ☹️ both of our moms are coming into town next week and only staying for a few days so if he doesn’t come by then, then no family members will get to meet him until he is 6+ months old 😭
