I just got diagnosed with GD. Haven't had my nutrition class yet but I work in healthcare and have the general idea of how it all works and what to eat and what to stay away from. so got my meter and had to play with it. I had a carb packed dinner (my doc said don't change my diet until I do the nutrition class so I am enjoying what I want these last few days). I had chips with spinach artichoke dip and French onion soup, not high in sugars. I tested about an hour after I ate and my BS was 84. My fasting sugar was 75 when I failed the 3 hour test. I expected a much higher reading after eating a dinner like that?!?! am I wrong to expect bad readings?
