Maternity leave?!

Question

When would be a good time to leave? This is my first baby due October 18th, I’m a hairdresser so I’m always on my feet. When do people usually leave? My manager is open to whenever but I just don’t want to wait too late.

I'm due 15th oct and plan leaving 4 wks before. I'm on feet all day and it will be hot then (I'm I'm the uk) and imagine it will be a struggle. I'm taking 2 weeks holiday and starting mat leave 2 weeks before due date x

I’m a dental assistant and on my feet for most of the day. I’m due oct 18 too! I plan on just seeing how I’m doing mid September . There’s another girl coming back from mat leave at that time and it would make an easy transition for me to leave mid sept. Although if I’m feeling ok I might try to tough it out for a while longer. Time off before will be nice but if baby comes later than expected that’ll be a lot of time just sitting around & waiting

I was waitressing when I was pregnant with my first. I worked up until the day I delivered. I will do the same with this one.

I'm due the same day! I told my manager that I was tentatively planning on leaving a week before my due date and would be gone 12 weeks after that. He was fine with it. Obviously if something comes up ill leave early but just giving him my general plan was enough

I work at a call center so I’m not ever on my feet my job allows me to leave week of my due date so that’s when i was planning on leaving my due date is the 11th which is a Thursday i plan on leaving that Monday

I worked in a deli I took maternity leave 3 days before baby came. Lol I planned on working up til he was born. But it depends on your body, u may be able to work all the way up to your due date or not everyone’s body is different. Good luck momma ❤️

My doctors office will write you out at 38 weeks.  If I go out right at 38 weeks, I would have to go back to work like the week of New Years.  Not interested in that.  So I’ll go out at 38 and a half weeks to avoid that.  I’m due the 25th and looking at going out on the 14th.  Once I get all my paperwork submitted to HR, we will discuss my options further.

i work in a salon as a hairstylist as well and i know all the girls i work with have worked right up to the day they had the baby, i plan on doing the same. Its hard because no paid time off and the longer you take you risk losing clients. I would rather have more time when the baby is here than waiting around for he or she to come 😊

I work 12 hours shift in a hospital with nursing. Last summer when I had my first baby I worked up until my water broke. I actually had to call in that morning at 1:45 am cause I was scheduled to be there that day at 7 am. 
So I plan on doing the same this time unless for some reason I get put on rest. My doctor told me last time that doctors don’t just put you on bed rest to get off work. If you are on rest it’s for a medical reason. It’s actually healthier for you and the baby to stay active. 
If you take off work too early then you need to make sure you gave a job to come back to.
