I have a serious question if anyone actually can help me
I don’t want any rude comments please.
I’m scared and I just want some insight.
So a month ago I was seen at a doctors office for some symptoms I have been having. After everything I told them, they wanted to do some testing. I had an EKG done and everything looked normal. I also had some blood work done and a few things were “alarming” but nothing terrible. Just my cholesterol levels were a bit high...
they then chose for me to wear a heart holter monitor home for like 3 days. When I brought it back in the doctor was extremely alarmed at my results. She said they came back really bad and abnormal. She sent me to a cardiologist the next week.
I saw the cardiologist and he said it looked completely normal. Nothing wrong rhythmically. But he wanted to see an echocardiogram done on me. A few days later I went in to have my echo done.
I got results back on that and talked with the cardiologist because he diagnosed me with Pulmonary Hypertension. Normal levels should be at 20. Mine were at 67. So severe. He sent me to a pulmonary hypertension specialist.
This week I saw them. I had several things done. On Monday I had a pulmonary function test, a chest X-ray, and a lung scan. Everything came back as fine. They sent me for blood work too. All my labs came back normal. So they scheduled me another echocardiogram but this time with a “bubble study”.
Just got those results today. And she said my echo looked normal this time. The bubble study didn’t show anything wrong and my echo levels were at near normal- 25.
What is going on? The nurse said she had to grab the doctor and talk to him about it before calling me because they are both so astonished on how I had two completely different results on the same test at two different places.
So in like 10-11 days, I have an appointment again to get done a Right Heart Catheterization. That’s a small little surgery to actually get into my heart and lungs and measure my pressures. It’s the only way to get 100% accurate results.
Has anyone had his problem? Anyone been diagnosed with PH? Anyone know about PH that has the same symptoms?
I’m at such a confusion.
