The bush

So my lady parts down there, we'll I have a bush. I occasionally trim but everytime I shave I do what everyone says and shave in the direction of the growth. Well by my thighs the hair grows out more and further. How do I stop that?! I am so desperate for answers. I'm way to afraid to shave because I know it will grow out further onto my thighs. Please help
