Osteogenises Imperecta. Help.

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this but has anyone had any experience with this condition ( has OI themselves/ has child with OI) ? Last night my 4 month old had to take a trip to the E.R for a very high fever and the doctor noticed the whites of his eyes had a very blue/grey tint to them and said that it is usually a big indicator for a mild form of OI and to talk to his pediatrician about on Monday. He said if he does have it than it will most likely be type 1 because type 2 babies generally don't survive the birth process. We're going to talk to his pediatrician but if he confirms what the other doctor found, would he be able to have a generally normal childhood or do we need to limit his activities if

he chose to play sports (contact sports)?
