Iud removal

I got my iud removed on Thursday. My doctor said I would have some spotting due to the removal. Today I woke up and got my period, I guess 🤷🏽‍♀️ heavy bleeding and blood clots. Is this normal after having your iud removed? I hadn’t had s period since early March.
