Long labor or just bad luck?

Ok so this story starts out Thursday morning I woke up and had THE WORST period cramps I’ve ever had. I’m 36.5 weeks pregnant. I just felt awful. Evening time rolled around and contractions started at 7:30 but they weren’t regular. By 8:30 they were strong and regular coming every 2 minutes by midnight I went to the hospital where I was monitored and sure enough they were huge contractions! They were very regular but I was sent home because I wasn’t dilating at all. They tried a muscle relaxer and said if the contractions were Braxton Hicks theyd stop but they never stopped. Friday I took it easy and was very sore but the contractions had died down. Saturday I went out of town to do some shopping and was in hot heat I felt a weird feeling down there and when I went to the bathroom found mucus. Again I had contractions that night and ended up crying. So now we’re to Sunday and I wiped after peeing and had lost my mucus plug. I haven’t felt right since Thursday’s episode. I’m not having regular contractions but I’m having a lot of mucus leakage. Is this a long bitter and hellacious labor, is this the start of labor, or am I just miserable. I’m due around the first week of june and this is my second baby.
