i was almost named...

so the other day i found out that my parents almost named me De Havilland (pronounced Dee Havelind). sounds odd at first, but it really quickly grew on me and now i love it. my dad is an airplane nerd, has built his own and is part of a community of pilots. i guess De Havilland is the name of a company that apparently makes beautiful planes. i was instead named after my great grandmother on my dad’s side, Martha Ann. while i think my name is pretty and it’s very personal for my family, i have never really liked it. i even feel weird telling people what my name is. if i were to ever change my name, it would make my parents and grandparents very hurt and angry and i couldn’t ever do it. but i love this name! i think it would be so cool to have this even as a nickname, but so many people wouldn’t get it and it’s nowhere near close to my name, so it might be odd. 🤷🏻‍♀️ what do y’all think of it?
