Considering an IUD

So I’ve been considering getting an IUD for a while since I’m on birth control and have tried multiple different kinds and have had bad side affects on all of them. I talked to my doctor about it and she said that she would do it but she wanted me to think about it more and the pain involved in the procedure, since I’m a teenager she said it would be much more painful than it was for an adult. I just wanted to ask if any other teenagers have had it and if it has been a good experience?
