Waiting until birth to find out?

Question

Any other mommies or mommies who did wait until birth to find out the gender of your baby?
I just have a few questions... 
i like to be prepared, what did you get to bring baby home in? 
Did you have a baby shower after?
How did you tell your family that youd like to wait to find out?
This is my last, and id like to know but at the same time i want the surprise. My husband found out for all his kids & my first. But my family wants to know the gender to start shopping. I just dont know what to do!

I waited for both my kids. For me it was way more exciting especially during labour to finally find out what we were having. I did buy a girl and boy outfit for them to come home in, and for home just neutral clothes ect. They don’t really need too much stuff before hand so can get it after babe is born.

We haven’t found out with either of ours. We just told everyone we weren’t going to find out because we wanted it to be a surprise. You don’t need to apologize or justify it. We brought baby home in a simple neutral sleeper. I’m bringing the same outfit to bring the second baby home in. We had our showers before baby was borm. It was seriously the best decision. People bought us practical gifts - diapers, bouncers, a rock and play, a bumbo, etc. we didn’t have to buy diapers for months! we only got a few outfits, which honestly was plenty. My friends who know the gender had to buy a lot of their equipment because people only bought blankets and outfits, and they ended up having a lot of clothes their baby never got to wear bc people bought so many newborn and 0-3 month outfits. A lot of people brought us a pink outfit once baby was born and we found out she was a girl. We didn’t have a shower for our second. We’re going to have a sip and see after it is born. If it’s a boy, I’m guessing people will bring us boy clothes.

We aren’t finding out!! It’s our first baby and the first baby for my entire family (the last baby born is now 20 years old).
In the nursery we have grey furniture, we didn’t paint because the wall color suits everything. Our “theme” is owls and elephants so decorating was super easy.
We just had the baby shower this previous weekend, we ended up getting things we actually needed (stroller, pack n play) instead of just pink or boy clothing. The ability to find out baby’s sex is rather new technology, parents and families have been throwing baby showers for surprises longer than they haven’t. 
Some of my family is mad we aren’t finding out, but this isn’t their baby so I don’t really care. Not finding out has already been the most exciting thing we’ve ever done! My husband gets to catch baby, he’ll be the first person in their entire world to know what we’re having and then gets to tell me. That’s a moment that we will never forget.
We told family right away that we didn’t want to find out, like I said, some of them were pretty grumpy about it, but that’s their problem 😋
I so hope you don’t find out! I don’t feel less connected to my baby because I don’t know what they are.

With my first we didn't find out. We brought 2 neutral sleepers to the hospital. We had a baby shower and got lots of yellow, green and white stuff lol. He was a boy. This is our third and last and we're not finding out (34 weeks) we got a girl sleeper and a boy sleeper to bring baby home in and I'll be having a meet the baby type shower after baby's here.
