Dental appointment gone bad

Lynndaline

I’ve always had pretty good teeth and never had a problem seeing a dentist (no fears of the dentist or anything) and I’ve been to the dentist a couple times this pregnancy and they were still good in the middle of the second trimester, last week I went in and out of nowhere I have cavities on all quadrants of my mouth. Do they set up an appointment to start the fillings (no big deal). Today I go in she numbs my mouth waits a while and starts. I felt so much pain, she stopped injected more numbing meds, waited and started again. Again instant pain, so bad I started shaking and crying. Apparently my enamel has gone so soft it’s like chalk. She gave me a prescription toothpaste with so much fluoride and calcium to try and harden the enamel, put in a temporary filling and said to come back next week and try again. I’ve never been scared of going to the dentist but I’m terrified of trying again. Even having kidney stones weren’t that painful. I’m crying at the thought of trying again.
