If you are one day late do you still have to hold urine for 4 hours to get accurate result?

I am one day Late and decided to take a cheap home pregnancy test today. I took it in the afternoon on basically a 2 hour hold. My urine was diluted from the water I had been drinking during the day. Needless to say the result was negative. Should I be using first morning urine or holding it for 4 hours even though I am one day past my expected period?? Any advice or opinions would be appreciated ! 😀
