IUI - 1% success rates for over 40s??

Question

I got told today by my nurse that the chances of IUI working for me is 1%. I’m 43, my husband is 29 and all my test results are as good as they could possibly be for my age-group. Lots of eggs, hormones as they should be etc. Starting cycle 2 of IUI today nonetheless. Anyone have some positive stories??

I’m 41 like you very healthy overall no fertility issues my DH is 43 we did IUI and got pregnant 1st try I’m now 21 weeks due September 2018 with a great pregnancy so far !

Yes my doctor told me my chance with IUI is 15%, but with injectables. Are you using clomid or gonatropin? I’m 36 and have 3 failed IUIs. 
The one thing I regretted the most is not go straight to IVF. I feel that IUI is waste of my time and money.

I don’t have any stories yet but your age shouldn’t be decreasing your chances to 1%! I know many people who are trying it and one who got pregnant recently but had a miscarriage (which is also common).
So go for it if that’s what they recommend !
