Depo mistake?

Just got the shot today, after using nuvaring for 4 years. Did I make a mistake?! LOL. It’s a trial run to see if the implanon will work good for me.

Depo shot can cause bone density loss that can worsen with use and may not be reversible after use either. Along with the other side effects, I haven't heard anything good from it, I have the implant and so happy I went with it.

Depo is toxic & overall bad for ur body. While both depo & Nexplanon (the newer version of Implanon) are progestin only methods, depo uses a completely different type of progestin, one that’s steroid-like & much harsher than any other progestin used in birth controls. Not to mention, u get a higher dose or hormones with depo than with Nexplanon or other methods. So, ur experience with depo does NOT guarantee the same experience u could have with Nexplanon, it could be very different.

I HATED the depo shot. I was like 150-160 when I first got it and hit my heaviest at 198. My period cramps were ridiculously painful, and it made sex unbearable. It hurt to even try having sex, not to mention I never was really in the mood for it when I was on it, but when I did want it it hurt so much and I just wanted it to be over. Plus I heard that the depo shot can be related to infertility or make it harder to get pregnant in the future after prolonged use.

I'm not sure if you want to have children but there are ALOT of women with unexplained infertility after depo. even though it "wears off" in 3 months, many people take years to get pregnant sometime after even just one shot.  just something to keep in mind. I was never told this and I'm going on almost a year of TTC after one shot.  cant say it's for sure related, but everything looks good otherwise
