Advice needed

So ...... As we know Mother's Day passed ( shout out to the mothers ) my fiancé didn't get a chance to get his child's mother anything but a card for Mother's Day although I insisted him getting her something he ran out of time and didn't , Now this up coming Friday NIGHT he wants to take her to dinner :-/ because he said she deserves more than a card .... Now correct me if I'm wrong I expressed without an attitude that i didn't feel it was appropriate that they go to dinner together there are other things to do than to be sitting at a table on Friday night with your X wife ! I think it's too intimate I suggested perfume edible arrangements or something else thoughtful what do y'all think would u be ok with this ?
