Thoughts on doulas?

Are you going to hire one? Has anyone had one and what was  your experience like?

My doula for my son' birth was helpful throughout my 30 hour labor - hubby could grab a power nap on occasion. Also had nice aromatherapy kit, and other good ideas to help me get through it.

Im interested in hiring one, but im not 100% yet. My hubby has a soft stomach and i know he will try comfort and support me through the birth as much as he can, but im worried he will pass out :/ lol. So i thought a doula would be great support too, so im really interested in seeing what other girls have to say about them too :)

I have 2 friends that act as doulas and I think they make amazing advocates for the birth. You just have to make sure it's a great personality match.

I have only found one in my area so far. I am thinking of meeting with someone. I just don't feel that my husband and family members will be enough or the right support during labor.
