What course should I choose?
I’m starting uni in September, and I’m torn between my choices. I got accepted at all unis I applied to but I don’t know whether I should do law with business or law with criminology. I’ve been studying business in college for the past 3 years. I’m not crazy about it but I also don’t hate it, it can be alright at times and super boring at others. The assignments are huge but not hard, you just have to explain one thing in 400 words lol. I’m really interested in anything that has to do with crimes: forensics, criminology etc. But I have no experience in these kind of things, just the things I picked up from the crime documentaries I constantly watch 😂 so I don’t know what the theory part would actually be like. I was thinking of doing forensic science but I haven’t done chemistry in over 5 years and I was always bad at it so forensics are excluded, I wouldn’t be able to catch up on everything and start from 0 in 4 months. In the business course that I’m doing we also have some law units, and I found them interesting although they were just basic law like employment and working regulations.
I was thinking doing the law with business because I have some experience in that and because business is a safer route I’d say. But on the other hand I don’t need a degree to be able to work in marketing, HR or anything like that. So if I do the business I’d never be able to find a job related to criminology as it’s specialism, whereas if I do the criminology I’d still be able to get a job in business. Maybe I’d have to do some extra qualifications to be able to go higher on the rank but that’s about it really. What do you think? I’ve talked to my tutor so many times and I still can’t make my mind up
