Pap smear - am I being irrational?

This is my second pregnancy, I lost my twins in August. I'm having my first appt with my ob gyn on the 10th and I know they'll do the Pap smear... I know it's technically safe, but with my last pregnancy after the Pap smear I bled for a week and even though it's safe, I know the bleeding from it will cause me huge anxiety. Am I being irrational by asking the doctor not to do it this time around?

My doctor didn't give me one because I had one with in the last 12 months

Have you had a pap in the last year? If not it's pretty necessary. If you have they should only do a vaginal exam not the full pap.

The pap didn't cause the miscarriage, but rather sped up the process. The doctor explained it to me after my second loss. If you've had one recently, they may not need it, otherwise it's a safety precaution and perfectly safe. I completely get the fear, and you should talk to your doctor about it. If you have a good doctor, they will be very supportive and helpful, I know mine is.
