I've been in a 1 1/2 yr relationship with my boyfriend and at the end of March we lost our virginities to each other (I'm 16, he's 17) We always use protection (condoms) but I feel like I should get on birth control too just to be safe. The problem is I don't know if I should talk to my mum about it. My boyfriend is moving across the country for a year in August and we're going to try the long distance relationship. I don't want her to think that I did this before he's leaving like it was some trick to get him attached to me which it is no way true at all. It was just the right time for me. I'm just so conflicted because my mum has told me to tell her when these things happen and she IS really chill about most things but given the circumstances I just don't know. Also I have a tendency to really overthink things so I just need other opinions.
