Dulcolax pills?

My doctor wants me to take 4 tablets to clear out my bowels but I’m scared to. It stimulates your bowels to make you use the bathroom but I’m afraid it’s like castor oil and I don’t want it to hurt my baby. I don’t know what to do:(

Docolax is a stool softener. It doesn’t usually stimulate you enough to hurt you. Laxatives are different. They force you to contract in your stomach and bowels so you poop, stool softeners just help your bowels absorb water and fluid to make it easier to go. Trust your doctor! They are right :) my aunt is an obgyn and explained the difference when I was pregnant and having problems too.

It’s not the same as castor oil. You are safe to take it.
