Red bumps

Katie
Hey- already went to the pedi for this, so don't judge, but I don't think she's right- my babe has little red bumps around eyes and mouth only, sometimes cheeks. They come and go, but sometimes she wakes up and she looks really broken out. Pedi says its heat rash, but it just doesn't seem like it happens when shes hot. I'm wondering if she is allergic to something I'm eating, like cows milk. I've cut out dairy, it's only been a few days but it's not helping. It's not bothering her but it just sucks to introduce her to my friends and she looks like a hormonal teenager ! Any advice/experience?

My son has newborn acne very bad. Pediatrician said it'll clear up on its own within a few months.

Could be newborn acne. Sometimes the hormones from the placenta cause this and it usually presents around 3 weeks of age and can go on for a few weeks.

It's newborn acne. Our breast milk on it :)

Our daughter has it too, only much worse. Our pediatrician says it's baby acne. It'll come and go for the first few months, gets worse when she gets hot or cries. We were told to make sure to wipe her face during the day with a warm washcloth, especially after she eats. It hurts the parents much more than the baby! It'll disappear on its own. It's much worse in bf babies since they continue to get the hormones that cause it.

Regardless of which one it turns out to be, it's comforting to know that it's only temporary. Even though I know it's only temporary I still hate that she has it! But I'm glad that it doesn't bother her.

Rely hoping it's not eczema, his dad has it and I see how much he struggles with it and I don't want my son to have to deal with that...

That sounds like what my baby boy has, he'll be 4 weeks on Sunday and it just makes me so sad 😔 I have an appointment for tomorrow with our Dr to see what he says.. All these baby rashes look the same though, heat rash-baby acne-eczema-cradle cap rash- and another one I forgot the name of..

My son had a similar situation going on. He would get a bump and then it would disappear a few hours later. Is it the same for her? Pediatrician said that babies skin was just getting used to the air.

Looks like newborn acne/rash. My 7 weeker still gets it, hormones cause it and it can last awhile if youre nursing. Doesnt look like anything to be concerned about. Normally an allergy to what you eat would change the poop not cause a break out. :-)
