13 reasons why should not be a show. while it does show what the real world is like with bulling, self harm/depression, hannah baker is portrayed of having so much power from her suicide. and that’s what i’ve got a problem with. it doesn’t glorify suicide a whole lot.

Guys just to clarify.. 13 Reasons Why is FICTIONAL. Under no circumstances should you watch it if you are going through something. It shows warnings about suicide and depression and helps prevent it. So dont say it shouldnt be showed because it should. Before every single episode it shows a warning that it includes parts about depression, suicide etc and that if you are having any thought you are NOT to watch it. Thanks, Bon

Love the show but I wouldn't recommend watching episode 13 at around 38:00 minutes for around 3 minutes as it's very graphic and disturbing. Wish I didn't watch that bit

Glorifies suicide, depression, and cutting.  
Back when I was really depressed I would listen to anything around me. I listened to those emo rock songs about cutting and “my life is so sad” and it just made everything worse for me. Put me in the mindset that cutting and suicide and depression were okay things to do. 
13 reasons why isn’t sad emo rock songs. First of all, a majority of kids and teens aren’t going to find screamo appealing, but a tv show will have a lot more hits. 
I’m not trying to say those songs I used to listen to are any better, but 13 reasons why has a broader audience level with visuals. 
I feel like if I were to have seen the show when I was depressed, I would’ve been more serious with my cutting. I don’t think I could’ve ever brought myself to suicide, but it would’ve definitely glorified cutting for me. I would’ve been more serious, I would’ve known how to do it better, and I would’ve thought that it would work better. 
13 reasons why just isn’t something that needs to be televised. Kids, teens, etc. don’t need to see an on screen suicide, cutting, or the over-glorification of depression.
