What is wrong with washing your hair once a week or less?

women always ridicule me for washing it once a week or less. I find it healthier.

I grew up washing my hair every other day and since I work from home now I decided to oil train my hair. I can go 8 days before it even begins to look greasy and i can go two or three days past that if I use dry shampoo or put my hair in a bun. My hair is wayyyyyy healthier now and it saves me a lot of time since my hair is super long lol

There’s nothing wrong with that. It all depends on your scalp. My hair is really thick and curly so im damn sure not washing it more than once a week unless i want to spend a thousand dollars on products to keep my hair from getting dry and dusty looking

I only wash mine once a week too. I dye my hair red and have thin hair and am trying to grow it out, so the less i wash the better for length and my color. I think people just find it gross, and i think a lot of people assume if you don’t wash your hair then you aren’t showering, which obviously isn’t the case lol.

nothing. i used to wash my hair daily and it was all I knew or was taught. it has always been really fine hair and I thought that's why it's always breaking off and damaged. a friend of mine told me to only wash it every other day and then every 3 days and work up to 4 or 5 days since mine is so thin. it allows the natural oils to soften your hair and it grows faster and doesn't break off as easy. finding a good dry shampoo or putting it up in a good hair tie was the key at the beginning but now my hair doesn't over produce oil now that it's used to my routine and the shampoo doesn't clog my follicles so it's growing super fast! I highly recommend

if you have long hair I would wash it every 2 to 3 days. Using a good conditioner.
if you have really short hair, I would rinse with water most days and wash it 1 to 2 times a week
