How do you pronounce Ailsa?

I think people pronouncing it Eye-La don’t understand how the S in “aisle” or “isla” operates...

I know someone whose daughter is named eye-la, she spells it Isla. I read Ailsa as ale-za

This name to me looks like a lifetime of confusion and mispronunciation. If you like the name Isla you should probably go with the usual spelling or if you would pronounce that name in another way I would spell if the way it sounds to your ears.

I would pronounce it Eye-la. But only because I’ve met 2 people with that spelling and the Eye-la pronunciation. Tends to be a Spanish variant of Isla.
