Agreeing on names?!

Question

How in the world did you and your partner agree on a name?! I am in love!!! With this boys name, but my partner is set on another name which I do not like at all! I like ‘different’ names because I don’t want my child to be 1 of the same 5 named kids in his class, but my partner likes more traditional names. 
I just feel crushed every time I fall in love with a name and he cringes and says ‘no’. 
Mind you we are only 9 weeks into the pregnancy so have plenty of time to agree on a name. But I don’t want to spend the next 7 months trying to convince myself I don’t love this name when my heart is set on it. At the same time I want to be fair because it is both our child to name.   
Plus I’m a whingy bitch about it all lately because hormones🤷🏻‍♀️😂
*disclaimer* we don’t know what gender the baby is yet I just don’t like referring to bubs as ‘it’ and I’m probably way wrong and am growing a baby girl but I sense he’s a boy so I just say he! (:

Oh my god we took 8 months to decide on the name. We couldn’t agree for absolutely anything. We’d bicker about it all the time and then we’d leave it alone for a day or two and come back to it. Finally he found a name and I absolutely loved it and it was exactly what I was looking for. Don’t rush it but also don’t put it off. The perfect name will come to you both. Good luck and congrats!

This took forever! My husband liked quirky names and I like quite classical names.

We wrote down 10 names each for each gender on our own and then came together and discussed why we like each name, it's great because he got involved too!

I think it's down to compromising... I really loved Elizabeth and dreamed of calling my baby girl that, but my husband hated it. Such is life :) I married him and it's his baby too so he should be happy with the name we picked as well.

We've settled on Clara Anne by the way :)

Me and my partner have talked before we even found out we were pregnant and have agreed on a boys name and only recently on a girls name. We would have been 4-6 weeks then!

I'm 26 weeks and we can't agree. I also want a name a little different and not common. He likes traditional but he likes names that can't be shortened. we're having a boy and 14 weeks to try get a list together 😂xx
