Cat herpes

Kenzie • Just tracking my cycle. Dog mom and always on the go!

I recently adopted a cat who I noticed was sneezing constantly and I cleaned gunk out of her eyes 3 times a day. On day 5 of having her, I took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with feline herpes. I put eye drops in her eyes and give her 5ml of amoxicillin daily along with a powder to boost her immune system in her food twice a day. She’s approximately 5 months old and since the medication, she doesn’t have gunky eyes or sneeze as much. Humans and dogs can’t get it, just other cats. Does anyone have experience with this? Did it cut your cat’s lifespan or did you notice changes over time? Thank you.
