Does it hurt to get your ears pierced?

I don’t want to sound like a baby but I’m 19 years old and still don’t have my ears pierced. I have a huge phobia of needles.. I still cry when I get my blood drawn or get the flu shot 😅. Does it hurt a lot to get your ears pierced? I love the way earrings look and really want to get them done but I’m scared of a needle sticking a hole into my ear..

Go with someone who will hold you accountable and don’t go to Claire’s or a piercing pagoda. 
It’s so incredibly small of a pinch and doesn’t hurt.

It does hurt, just for a second though… 
Listen, when I was 6 years old my mother sterilized a sewing needle and iced my ear lobe and pierced my ears with the needle. If I can do that at 6 years old, you can do a professional ear piercing at 19.

its usually just a little gun shaped tool so it doesn't necessarily look like a needle (so hopefully that helps some). its quick. the weeks of cleaning after is worse than the few seconds of pain. I have 3 in each ear. My mom got the first ones done when I was a toddler (then i ended up getting them redone as a child). In high school, I wanted 2 more on each ear but my mom wouldn't let me. my 15 year old self (thinking im grown i guess lol)..decides to have my friend do it when she spent the night. My friend did 2 holes in only one ear and then said she couldn't do it anymore..so I was left to do my other ear on my own. We did everything right though..they line up perfectly and we sterilized everything lol. That way was worse than the gun and it still was tolerable.

So what everyone is saying is true, for most. It is really a small pinch and pressure that only hurts for a few seconds, but it hurts more than a needle/flu shot. So if getting the flu shot really leaves you in tears, getting your ears pierced will definitely hurt you.
That being said, I think its totally worth it and you seem very sure that you want to get it done, so I’m sure you’d be happy despite the pain.

For my 9th birthday I wanted to get them pierced 
I was about to chicken out and my mom said if I chickened out I was grounded😂
I got them done and it felt like I was pinched for like 2 seconds 
And it was over

I absolutely hate needles also I can’t stand getting blood drawn or an IV but I have my ears pierced. It’s just a little pinch. But if you do get them done ask them to do both at one time cause they didn’t with my little sister and after one was done she was not having the other one done after that lmao but of course my mom said nope I payed for both ears not just one. Lmao she was five tho. Good luck.!
