Mini Road Trip at 40 weeks!
I decided to get out of the house and do something fun today! I started maternity leave this week. I've nested all you can possibly nest. All my thoughts and energy have been geared toward getting ready for baby/labor. As in, taking my dogs on two walks a day, bouncing on my ball, drinking RRLT, only sitting in positions that encourage dropping, scrubbing things, rewashing already washed laundry, adding or taking away from my hospital bag, etc. A small part of me felt like it was a terrible idea to travel more than 30 minutes from home/husband. Like, I would totally be that lady with the crazy, side of the road childbirth story. 🤦♀️ But I'm happy to say there was no water breaking or emergency baby delivering situations on the road! My due date is tomorrow but baby seems rather comfortable where he is at. The anticipation has been driving me nuts and I think it is doing more harm than good to confine myself to the house just waiting for something to happen! I live a little under 2 hours from Waco so this wasn't ridiculously far. It was so nice to get my mind off the impending labor for a bit, taking a spontaneous little day trip and getting some girl time in with my sister and best friend (something that wont be very easy to do spontaneously ever again). I highly recommend doing something like this to every prego out there! The last few weeks are so frustrating for us all. I'm pretty sore and tired after the walk and being in this Texas heat but feeling less gloomy/irritated now that I've spent a little time with my girls and had a little fun. I am a huge Fixer Upper fan but this was my first time ever visiting the Market, Bakery & Magnolia Table! So glad I finally got to experience this!
