(Sorry I have no idea which group this needed to be in)

So I recently just passed the NREMT for B-EMT and waiting for my state license. Anyways am 19 Y/O and of course a girl. Is there much sexism in the ems field? Like partners you work with or co workers?

On my clinicals I ran into a couple of people who you can obviously tell treat women differently. Some ways the men were more respectful and others were more disrespectful and of course some were neutral.

My EMT class was full of men and well I was the only girl and Of course I was the youngest as well. HOWEVER.. I felt like I was treated different. Of course I am very comfortable about making my voice heard however they did not care at all and when I talked I was completely ignored anyways.

Is this how it is for women in EMS?
