i’m absolutely disgusted.

TRIGGER WARNING: SCHOOL SHOOTING THREAT, RACISM

so i’m currently in alabama for the weekend because of a family wedding. i had just arrived at the hotel my parents and i are staying at and i get a text from one of my closest friends saying they were getting picked up from school.

apparently there was a racially motivated shooting threat at my school today.

i don’t know how to react. i want to cry so hard but i can barely even breathe. i’ve been texting as many people as i can just to make sure they’re okay. they said they’re fine and there is cops at every corner, but no lockdown yet. a lot of people are getting picked up and i just facetimed a few friends before typing this up.

at my school we have to wear ID’s, which yes they can be a pain in the ass but it’s supposed to help teachers identify students and make sure that there are no suspicious people. even after the shooting in florida they were strict on them for like 2 weeks and then it just went back to normal routine. it shouldn’t even be “normal” because kids should be wearing their damn id’s every day.

the threat was made on social media. i’m guessing he’s a senior, but the post reads “i have an idea for senior prank: what if we shot up all the black people at school and told the normal people to stay at home that day!”

why are people so disgusting?

a mom had talked about how her daughter was getting bullied for her race and how she was getting called the “n-word” a lot. i don’t think she’s in my grade but if i ever find out who it is i’m offering to help her out with anything.

racism is absolutely horrible. at this point i don’t know what else to say.
