Bullying, things that start at home . . .

Cameron

Why don’t parents ever take the blame? Or step up and see what’s wrong with their child? I work with children and every time one is sent to me to discuss their feelings, I ask them if they’ve told anyone. Every response is the same! - Yes I told my mom but she was too busy on the phone, I told my dad but he called me a sissy. Etc.

I talk to the “bullies”, and they were picked on previously or have an older sibling or family members that abuses them in various. Or they’ve witness good ol’ Mommy & Daddy one too many times.

We send our children to school for education, to develop social skills and so on. While a school should be safe, we do not send them there for protection. Yes the schools should be keeping their eye on these children, watching for signs but it starts at home.

Why are there so many parents quick to blame someone else for their child’s behavior rather than finding the source?
