Why is “Poppy” a popular name right now?

I know several people whose grandpas’ are called poppy. And it’s the troll girls name. I just want to understand why it became so popular for little girls all of the sudden? Is it from something I’m missing? It’s cute, but I don’t get why it is overwhelmingly popular all of the sudden. Help me get it.

We considered it because it’s a flower/nature name that isn’t super common. I originally loved willow, but feel like I’m seeing it everywhere. I didn’t even know a troll was named poppy and I definitely don’t call my grandfather that!

It’s on my middle name list and I love it because the Poppy is one of my favorite flowers and it’s also considered a color. Both of my girls have color middle names, so that’s why I’m considering it if we have another girl. :)
