IUD copper (Paragard) and heavy period

Hello,

Im planning to get a Copper IUD and I was wondering of this makes your period heavier or not?

I used to use BC pills, but I can’t anymore bc the hormones. I’ve been 2 months without pills already and my period is -of course- heavier now. It las 5 days, but 1 days the bleeding is so intense that I soak the pads and I feel very weak. I dont wanna make it worse with the Paragard.
