I need help y’all. 
I’ve been friends with a guy who’s about 12 years older than me for the last year and I’ve only just come to the realization that I actually really like him. But he’s already expressed to me that he wants to find someone his own age. What do I do?!

I would move on. Try to stay friends with him but if he's not comfortable with the age difference from a relationship standpoint you can't force it.

The thing is, I don’t think he knows I’m interested. And I wonder if he’d change his mind if he knew I was. But also way afraid to throw myself out there? And I know there’s something to the age difference like he’s already been married and divorced once.

I had a crush on a man that was 16 years older than me and we always had a lot of fun and had so much in common but he had just recently gotten out of an engagement when we met and told me that he wasted most of his life during his engagement that he’d rather us keep doing what we were doing without “labels”. So I left. 4 years later he regrets it and said to me that he wants to pursue a relationship but I’m already happily engaged. 
Move on. Don’t waste your life on him.
