Baby carriers and bow legs?

Hello, has anyone’s child developed bow legs because of baby carriers? I have been told that baby carriers makes babies to have bow legs?

As long as the carrier supports their hips and their legs aren’t dangling straight down there shouldn’t be any issues. We used both a wrap and structured carrier that fully supported my sons hips and he’s been walking since 9mths with no bowed legs
Remember though it’s normal for some kids to have bowed legs that correct themselves over time (usually by the time they’re 3) so even if they did it wouldn’t necessarily be because of a carrier. Carriers are much more likely to cause hip joint issues as that’s where the pressure is placed if they’re not good quality. Bowed legs can come from encouraging a baby or trying to make them walk too early before they’re ready as well as developmental issues

I think it depends on the kind you use. A lot of the cheaper ones aren't good for a baby's hips. I had my son in an infantino & he ended up being a late unsupported sitter, crawler, & walker. We took him to physical therapy for a couple months.
I think as long as you find something a little more expensive that says it's good for his or her hips & you just constantly make sure your baby is having a healthy active routine.. you should be fine...

I read you are no longer supposed to wear your baby forward facing because of the weight on their hips and the unnatural curve their back has to take in that position

I’ve heard it’s better to get one that supports them properly and they can actually sit in, rather than just have them hanging there. Hopefully that might help.

You have to make sure you have them in the carrier properly or you can mess with their hips, but the carrier should have instructions to show you proper hip placement.
