Fifths disease?

Question

Is fifths the same thing has hand foot and mouth? Think my son was exposed to what looked like hand for and mouth at his pediatrician's office and I'm pregnant and kinda freaking out about miscarriage now. As if I don't have a million other issues. Also how is this treated? will my son need antibiotics?

No Fifths disease is not the same as Hand, Foot, and Mouth (also known as Sixth Disease).  Hand, Foot and Mouth is caused by a virus so no antibiotics.  It should clear up on its own in a week or two.  Most adults don’t get Hand, Foot and Mouth because they have built up an immunity to it.  If you are concerned about the baby then definitely go see your doctor,  but it is unlikely you will even get it.  It is an incredibly common virus.
