Yup, truly a surprise.
​He told me to close my eyes. 
The open them. After letting me gasp with shock. He got down on one knee and proposed. Best day of my life.

We picked out the ring together then he hid it for many many months trying to get me to forget. He ended up proposing on my birthday and I had no idea I had given up waiting :) and in my opinion it doesn't matter how much the ring costs it's the thought.

SURPRISED.  after nine years together we had never discussed it.  I *think* my ring cost around $700, but he picked it out, so dunno.  I would have shot him if he spent more, that's just a waste!

Yes I was in my pj's reading a book at home and he swept in with the biggest bunch of white roses I have ever seen and asked me then and there. He then made me a cup of tea because I was shaking .

​Him and his mom picked it out, he proposed were he first asked me to be his girlfriend, and as much money as you want to spend :) and I knew for about a month he isn't good at keeping secrets ;)

My DH and I had gone to look at rings a few times, and I picked out a solitaire round engagement ring-- I love the classic, timeless look... And a wrap as my wedding band with just two rows of smaller diamonds.

​I had been putting a little pressure on him to pop the question but he kept telling me that he couldn't afford the ring I wanted, and he seemed really genuine about it, so I dropped it.

​A few weeks later, we went to a Cincinnati Reds game together and he proposed to me during the fireworks after the game. I was complete surprised!!

My story is a little different! 
​The day after my birthday January 10, 2014. My fiancé sent me video of every picture we have ever taken together that he still had on his phone and put the song "will you Mary me" as the back ground music... He proposed through a video because he had to work extremely late for 4 days straight! When I finnaly seen him he put my moms engagement ring that was also my godmother ring on my ring finger and said "I hope this will do until I can afford a ring" he was saving up for one and totaled his truck due to the roads icing over so the money saved went towards a truck being that he has to have transportation to pick up his two year old:) this is my temporary ring but as many of you have said it's not about the ring it's abkut the love you share!​

Mine wasn't a surprise he kept telling me he was gonna do it cuz he was so excited !!! He got me a gold opal ring with little diamonds it was $300 from a pawn shop but that was all he could afford at the time and opal is my birth stone I absolutely love it and it's mostly about the meaning and the love not the ring itself but he told me now that he's making more money he will buy me a nice diamond ring :) ​
