Started spotting on Thursday, my GP wanted me to have a blood test the following morning but as we fly on holiday on Sunday we wouldn’t be able to have the next one 48 hours later so declined.

Yesterday (Friday) was pretty much the same, I still felt fine and pregnant. Then this morning I’d had period like pains all morning and around 10am went to wee and passed a clot and wiped red blood.

Called 111 and they got an out of hours doctor to call me who advised me to go to a&e.;

They did a urine test and took bloods.

My urine test came back negative for pregnancy which I was really upset about but the nurse told me to wait for the blood results.

Around 2 hours later I was seen by a consultant and nurse and they did a trans vaginal ultrasound, he said my womb was ‘beyond empty’ 😔 my hcg levels were 360. They too want to retest in 48 hours but providing I feel well enough I intend to get on the plane tomorrow and forget all about it! Thought I’d share my experience as feeling a bit frazzled by it all. Hubby and I are a bit confused by the hcg levels but presume they’re all tailing off.

This was our first pregnancy and I’ve read it can be quite common. We’re going to try again after my next period. Baby dust to you all and thanks for reading xxx
