For teenage girls, is it better to have them start with pads, or can they go staright to the cup. Obviously their size cup, but can they?

So I just discovered the cup. Wow. My whole life I lived in fear of going public during my cycle and now I feel more secure about my period than ever before. I wish I had never had to live my life using pads and tampons. As a mom of a young girl who has yet to even start her "cycles" I wonder if when she does start do i give her pads for the first few cycles and give her the option of the cup. Or do I just get her one she can use right away?

They could start with a small cup. I started with tampons right away. Even some of the smallest cups might still be too big, so it’s just a matter of getting the right size. Start with amazon where you can get cheap ones instead of buying a diva cup that might not fit and cost way too much.

There’s a cup specifically aimed at beginners like teen girls called the Lily Cup One! I haven’t tried it, but it looks pretty interesting to me. I have tried a couple other cups by this brand, and I didn’t like the original Lily cup but I do have and use their collapsible cup for when I forget my other cups at home and my period starts in public.

It depends on what they are comfortable with trying. If they want to try out a cup, get a size small to start with and then once they have it the general idea figured out then they can find a cup that fits them better (bigger or smaller). Also I'd recommend the cup quiz from put a cup in it

I'm 13 old started using the cup two cycles ago I love it and wish I knew about if before hand I have had my periods for almost three years and dreaded them   For me i think it would have been a little more complicated if I had not used tampons to begin with cause that help a lot in my experience  it was tricky for me to get the hang of it at the beginning but it's been getting a lot easier
