Is anyone ever financially ready for a baby?? Baby Fever!!

I am 26.  have had baby fever for over a year now.  My husband and I would love having a baby.  We just don’t know if we should because of finances.  Is anyone ever really financially ready for a baby?  A lot of my friends and family members say you can never really be financially prepared for a baby.  I always have vivid dreams of being pregnant and actually having the baby.  It feels so real!  It bums me out when I wake up and it’s not real.  I don’t know how to shake this baby fever.

Honestly I feel like I’ve had more money after having a baby than I did before. And no we aren’t getting any government assistance since that’s the first thing people assume lol. You just learn to budget and make better money choices once you have someone depending on you for everything. I took 5 months off work and we made it just fine. Good jobs help a lot as well.

Yes!! If you plan right and budget you can. I don’t want to say the amount but my hubby and I have a lot saved up for our future baby.

My husband and I are in the same position all our friends say is how expensive everything is. I would like to start trying but he doesn’t feel we are financially ready 😩 he wants a house before we have a baby but we are up for orders and don’t know where we will live next year

I think you sort of can be. But not entirely, becuase you just never know what the future will hold.

No you can never be 100% ready for a baby. I only have 1 and its a stretch. If you cannot breastfeed you still have to budget for formula. Also budgeting for diapers and child care if you have to go back to work. Things can also happen when you are pregnant, such as a premature birth which may require time off work. Things can and do happen with babies that you are not ready for.

I feel you. I live from one short term contract to the next. It’s difficult, but it’s a judgment call you both need to make.
