How long should I wait to tell my work I’m pregnant?

I recently found out I’m pregnant. Im setting up a appointment with my doctor this week. I just wanna be super careful and safe with my pregnancy. Just because I have high blood pressure and anxiety. I don’t want that to be put on the baby. I wanna make sure my boss knows I’m pregnant. So I’m allowed to back away when I’m overwhelmed. Just how long should I wait?

I was going to wait until I was on to my second trimester but I'm glad they found out when I was 6 weeks as my manager made sure I didn't lift anything heavy or do anything stressful. (I didn't even have to ask him, he came to me and gave me a long list of things he didn't want me to do so I wouldn't harm the baby!)

depends on your work duties.  i have just a desk job so waited until 15 weeks.

I told my boss right away. my job includes a lot of heavy liftinf. I wanted him to be aware of what I could and couldn't do.

I tell my boss right away in case I get really sick. that way they know why. not telling your boss isn't going to make bad things not happen. They will happen regardless if they were meant to happen so I'd rather them know why I'm constantly sick.

If I ever get pregnant, I'm going to wait until I'm 5 months along before telling anybody at work. That should give them plenty of time to sort through the maternity leave, and I should be past the danger time of miscarriage.
