If you had a home birth, would you allow your 7 year old Daughter to be there?

This isn’t my situation. 👆🏻👆🏻 just curious. 
But I am a single parent (3rd baby) and it does worry me slightly that if things suddenly come on in the evening say, or whilst I was in the bath for example; would I ask my 7 year old Daughter to come and be with me..
My family is literally a 3/4 minute drive away and my next door neighbours are amazing, but I mean if I was suddenly in the moment and was scared for my Daughter to leave me for a second to get my phone or something. 
Would you ever have your child witness childbirth? 
If so, what age?

I’ve been watching a lot of live births lately, most of them are home births and the kids are always there. Its such a magical experience for them. Some even catch the baby and cut the cord 😊

No personal experience but my sister in law wanted her son with her. the time came and she changed her mind. she said she felt she couldn't focus on herself.

I would allow any of my children to witness a birth, if they were interested. I would suggest having an extra adult (other than daddy) in case your child has concerns or questions so your partner can focus solely on YOU. Birth is a natural part of life and doesn’t need to have a stigma attached, I would make sure they were educated so they weren’t scared and have a back up plan in case something goes array.

I know a woman who had her girls in the room with her! I believe they were 3 and 5 at the time. they even helped massage her when she was in labor. seemed sweet to me

My best friend and I both had our first children at a birth center with midwives, we are now expecting again (our first are 3 and almost 3) and we plan to have them there with us. We have been showing them birth videos and talking to them about it a lot. I think it’s best if you help prepare your little one as best you can on what to expect before you are due. Good luck!
